New York, New York

Lance and I got back last night from being in New York for the last five days. Lance needed to go to New York for a couple of days with work so it was great to tag along and spend the weekend in the city together. New York is a special place for us because it is where we got engaged New Year's Eve 99-2000. It was so fun to go back to Central Park and stand in the the exact spot where Lance got down on his knee and proposed. I have never seen Lance more nervous than he was before he proposed.

This is Belvedere Castle and with fireworks overhead Lance asked me to marry him and the rest is history.

With the inspiration of our sister-in-law, Ashley, we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. My favorite work there is The Dance Class.

Lance just liked the sculptures. Needless to say we leave a lot to be desired when it comes to art appreciation, however we had a great time.

Our Broadway experience included Mary Poppins which we loved. It was very entertaining with great music and stage effects. I would highly recommend it!

Lance humored me by going to the bodies exhibit. He was a little hesitant because Lance has no problem with a 300 lb lineman running at him but if you even try to draw his blood he passes out in seconds. Suprisingly, Lance really liked it! The exhibit is fascinating with the way it breaks apart the different body systems and displays the cadavers. Who knows Lance maybe it isn't too late for medical school.
Our trip also included a trip to Ground Zero, Rockefeller Center, and shopping. The best part was being together ( just the two of us) which anyone who has children knows is a rare treat.

Peyton & Lexi

Peyton and Alexandria keep our life full of laughs and fun. There is never a dull moment when these two are around.

Lexi is our little princess! She loves anything that is pink or has Disney princesses on it.

She is definitely daddy's little girl.

Lexi loves to dress up and dance. She can't wait to start ballet.

The girls of the house are always trying to keep up with whatever the boys throw our way.

Peyton is the life of the party at our house! He is always making us laugh by quoting his latest movie lines or sledding down the hills in our backyard even when there is no snow.

Peyton is a dare devil often to my dismay. He loves doings tricks and jumps on his bike, climbing trees, and jumping off our 7 1/2 ft fence onto the trampoline.

Peyton can't get enough of sports! He plays soccer, basketball and T-ball but he can't wait to play football.

Peyton loves being like his dad. He calls himself Maverick and dad is Goose. Since when does a five year old need a wingman.

Late night chocolate milk snacks are a favorite at our house. Peyton and Lexi are best friends they are always looking out for each other. They are a wonderful blessing in our home.

Mindy

Well, I guess it is my turn. I love traveling and experiencing life! Some of my favorite places to visit are Hawaii in the winter and Cache Valley in the summer.

There are six girls and one boy in my family (not including my parents). It was always entertaining growing up in a house full of girls. It seemed like there was always someone crying, laughing, or talking on the phone with a new boyfriend. My sisters are some of my best friends. We talk about everything almost daily even though it gets exhausting at times.

Morris and my Dad deserve a gold medal for all they put up with. Morris' wife Ashley is a lucky girl to have a husband who is so prepared to deal with girl stuff. Nothing could shock him! Ashley fits in great with all us girls and is a wonderful sister-in-law.

We love being with friends. It is great to have friends who we have been close to since high school and new friends we have made along the way. Friends make life fun and help you through life when it is not so fun.

I have my graduate degree in health promotion and administration but right now I am a full time Mom. Being a mom is my favorite thing in the world. It is so neat to experience the world through Peyton and Lexi's eyes each day.

Lance

I thought my first couple of entries could focus on each person in our family. Lance is truly one in a million. I love being married to Lance, he is my best friend. Lance makes everything fun and people want to be around him. He is great at everything he does: sports, work, Dad, husband, callings, and life except home improvement projects. Lance could be classified as a perfectionist so when it comes to home projects his focus leads to frustration.
Lance is the oldest of five siblings. He is a natural born leader. Contrary to my family where there is constant chatter and debating, Lance is very patient and diplomatic.

Football has been a big part of Lance's life. He loved playing QB at the University of Utah! His passion for sports is already being emulated by Peyton. They can usually be found in our basement watching a game together or playing the sport of the season in the backyard.

Lance often travels for work as National Sales Director for a software company. It is ironic that his trips often involve sporting events: Utah football, Gator FB games, 49ers games or golf. He recently returned from visiting some clients in Florida while there he stopped by to see Coach Meyer and Coach Mullen. He enjoyed a great home cooked meal at the Mullen's which is always nice when traveling. Thanks Megan!

Lance loves to be active and going. Even on our honeymoon he had an agenda including hiking waterfalls, exploring rainforests, running on beaches, etc. Lance loves waking up early and getting in a good workout to start his day. Actually, he doesn't really enjoy waking up early but he knows that if he doesn't do it in the morning he can't do it after work because I need help by that point!

I am so lucky to have Lance as my husband!

Let's Get Started!

No, Lance is not a fire fighter but we do love an adventure! So I am ready for this next adventure of entering the world of blogging. When computers and technology are not my strong point unless they deal with medical treatments or diagnostic imaging this will truly be interesting.
Our family of four is always on the go. So I will not pledge to be an avid blogger with daily updates. I am just excited to record a few of life's best and most simple pleasures. I am sure there will also be some not great however, humorous moments as well. When it comes to Peyton and Lexi there is always plenty of both!
