Back to School

Well it is back to school at our house and everyone is excited except for Kempton who is wondering where his friends went.
The night before school started Peyton said he was anxious, "a mix of excited and nervous."
Our annual neighborhood back to school breakfast on the first day is so great for the kids to transition into school mode.
They get to see all their friends and forget about being nervous.
Lexi was so excited for school to start! She had so much fun going school shopping with Nana Anita.
Lexi didn't start kindergarten until a week after Peyton. So she was more than ready when her turn came.
Lexi is so excited she has two of her cousins in class with her. The trick will be making sure they pay attention.
Well summer is over and Lexi and Peyton are enjoying their new classes!

What do you do in the summertime?

I can't believe this summer is almost over! However, on most weekdays around 4:30 I think it might never end. These are some random pictures of what we did this summer.
Actually this picture should be of Lance because he seemed to get in a few rounds of golf every week.

Summer fun

We have had a crazy, fun, busy summer.

Campfire

It is great to live so close to mountains and be able to escape with friends from the heat of these long summer days.
I don't know what it is with men and fire but I guess they just love to go back to those good old scouting days.
I love how everything tastes better when you are in nature from the classic hot dog, tin foil dinners and dutch oven cobbler.
The single guys just enjoyed hanging out and getting a few tips from Ryan.
Kempton was covered in dirt and marshmallow by the end of the night. I guess there is nothing better than that when you are one year old.
The little girls stayed busy collecting their favorite rocks and sticks. I love how kids have more fun with dirt, rocks, and sticks than all the gadgets and gizmos we buy for them.
