This sweet, smiley little boy sure knows how to make a mess. Last night while I was having a late girls night at my friends house, Lance was tucking Peyton in when he hears Lexi calling him. Well, Lexi had decided to make herself a bowl of cereal and
Kempton climbed up on the counter and dumped a whole gallon of milk out. So, Lance got to spend the next hour and a half cleaning it all up.
We have had some classic messes over the years. If there was mud around Peyton would find it.
So, I usually let him make the most of it after I already found him muddy.
From a young age Peyton would often include his sister in the fun. How thoughtful!
Fortunately, Peyton has out grown his affinity for messes but Lexi still finds a way to rearrange all her dolls, Barbies, and dress-ups all over the house on a daily basis.
We will have to keep our fingers crossed that this guy doesn't have too many major messes still in him.
The dirty dash is a 10K obstacle coarse where military boot camp meets muddy madness. Last weekend myself and 19 of my fabulous neighborhood friends took on the challenge.
Of course being the fun friends that we are, we decided to make a weekend get away out of our race.
After we said good-bye to the husbands and kids we were off to dinner in Park City.
We had to stop and get a treat before heading to the condo. The night was filled with hot tubing, laughter, and lots of talking.
This is the whole group of Muddy Mommas before the big race.
As the race started we had no idea what lay ahead. First a dash up a muddy hill while being sprayed by an irrigation sprinkler, stacked hay bails to leap, crawling through large pipes, climbing a series of walls surrounded by soggy slippery mud, leaping ditches, running through streams, a nice run through a muddy stinky marsh, a giant slip and slide, and a crawl through a giant mud pit. All that with a lot of running in between. It was a blast!
We paused for a picture half way through the race where our families were cheering us on. Lance and the kids made great cheerleaders!
I must say this was a first. Swimming in mud makes for some serious clean up.
We finished strong completely covered in mud. I love my neighborhood and the fun friends I get to live by.
