Happy Birthday to Kempton!

Kempton celebrated his big two year old b-day. However, I feel like he entered the terrible twos a few months ago. He is such a busy, busy boy. He tries to do everything Peyton and Lexi do like playing soccer, jumping on the tramp with the big kids, riding bikes, scooters, and skateboarding. One of his favorite toys is playing motorcycle on the itouch. I love how he is still very sweet and wants to cuddle at night and in the morning. We love this little guy!
Kempton loves opening presents. His favorite things are Thomas the Train, Cars, and trucks.
When we would ask Kempton what he wanted for his birthday he would say cake and a bike. He was so excited to get his new bike we had to let him ride it in the house for a few days.
The parties just kept coming for Kempton. For a few days after when we would get in the car at night he would say "Party, Party?" He had a lot of great Birthdays.

Lexi lately

Lexi got to go with her cousin Janie to get her first pedicure.
Being able to chose from all the colors- a little girls heaven!
I hope Lexi does not start to want one on a regular basis.
Lexi lost her first tooth! She was trying to untie a knot with her teeth (not good) and it loosed her front bottom tooth.
Lexi has been waiting all school year to be the star student. She finally got her chance and was very excited. She knew exactly how she wanted to design her poster.

Winter Activities

The kids really like to go out for bowling and pizza.
I am pretty sure that Peyton is a better bowler than his mom. Lexi still prefers to use the ramp.
Kempton thinks he is just one of the big kids. It was pretty funny to see him carry around the bowling ball saying,"heavy, heavy!"
Anytime there is new snow the kids want to put on their snow clothes and play.
Lance hard at work to clear the driveway. He is a man of many talents!
It is so fun to go sledding at Grandpa's house because you can just walk out to the gully and find lots of fun hills.
Kempton really likes to be outside and play in the snow. We have to make sure we keep all our doors dead bolted or he will go outside in whatever he is wearing or not wearing and play in the snow.

Happy New Year!

Before heading to the late night dance party at the Needham ballroom we celebrated with the annual Crepe party. The girls were hard at work making crepes.
The brother-in-laws checking out the latest sporting news.
The kids come up with some yummy creations when designing their crepes.
We look forward to a new year and look back on some great memories in 2010!

Christmas

Christmas is a time of tradition and family and we are lucky to have a lot of both!
The boys were ready for the parts as Shepherds and the innkeeper.
Lexi, Janie, and Rylee are all in the same school class and love being together. They performed "Milton the Dancing Christmas Mouse" from their school program. Lexi is always willing to put on a show!
The "Buzzins" the older girl cousins did their rendition of the Who's in Whoville. They were hilarious!
Santa definitely found our house and the kids loved their new toys. Then we headed to Logan for more Christmas traditions.
It was fun to have Morris and Ashley back for Christmas after being away for a couple of years.
There were lots of presents and fun things to open. You know their are too many presents when the little kids leave and there are presents still under the tree.
Grandma and Grandpa surprised the kids with a movie showing the Disney Cruise and announced we all get to go on a trip. Yeah!
Christmas dinner was really special with the whole family together! We always share a service we have provided during the Christmas season and it makes for a special night.

Utah Football

The 2010 season started out great but got a little ugly towards the end. Peyton and Lance before the TCU game were all dressed in black and excited for the game. Too bad that excitement did not last long once the game started.
Peyton had his second College Game Day experience and was loving it!
Lance spent seven hours in the car after having business meetings in Chicago in order to make it to the Utah vs Iowa State game. He thought it was totally worth it because it was the Utes best game of the season.
The guys trip to South Bend was great except for the game.
The Notre Dame Campus was beautiful and rich with tradition.
The classic picture in front of touchdown Jesus.
There were 21 family members who made the trip. To bad they had to sit through a rainy, sloppy game. Lance finished off the season by heading south to the Las Vegas Bowl. Just like the season the game began with a lot of promises but was full of missed opportunities. We are excited for next season and joining the PAC 12!

Cousin's Party

The annual Rice Cousin's Party was at This is the Place Heritage Park. The kids had a great time with all the different activities.
These four cousins are quite the bundle of energy when they all get together.
We all got bundled up to walk around the village, ride the train, and see the real reindeer.
On the train the kids sang all their favorite Christmas songs.
Kempton was fascinated with the live Nativity. It was pretty neat to see the Shepherd's with real sheep.
All the kids sat on Santa's lap. As you can see some liked it more than others. Peyton's list: an itouch, surprise lego set, and a counting bank .
Lexi asked for an American girl doll, clothes, and a surprise.
Kempton was not wanting anything to do with sitting on Santa's lap.
Finally, the annual Christmas pinata. That is the same bat that Lance and his cousins used to break their pinata on Christmas Eve growing up.
