Alexandria's Birthday

It is Birthday week at our house and Lexi kicked it all off.
All moms say it but I can't believe it has been six years since I first held this beautiful dark haired baby girl in my arms.
It was Lexi's off year for a big birthday party so she had a couple of friends over before school.
We had a girls lunch date at McDonald's.
Nana Dixie came to town to celebrate with Lexi. After dinner we all went for ice cream and shakes.
Lexi has been asking for an alarm clock for a few months. I'm not sure why but she was really happy when she opened it. I hope that enthusiasm lasts when it is waking her up early in the morning. In her class they have Babs the bear that gets to come home on your birthday with you. We all got a kick out of her funny song and dance. Lexi had a great birthday. We love you!

Chelsey's Bridesmaid Luncheon

Chelsey had a fun bridesmaid luncheon to thank all her favorite girls for being a part of her upcoming wedding. Lexi is so excited to be a flower girl.
She has been looking forward to seeing her dress.
It was fun to see all ten dresses displayed before Chelsey gave them to her bridesmaids.
All the food and treats were so yummy! We can't wait for the big day.

Cruising with the Family

We recently returned from a fun filled family vacation on a Disney Cruise. My parents gave the family a cruise for Christmas - we all looked forward to it for several months! So the whole gang packed up and headed to California. We had a lot of fun in the sun but there was so much more than that.
We ate a lot as all true cruisers do. The kids tried lots of new foods like lobster, duck, and escargot. Some they liked and some not so much. My brother-in-law put it best when he said you get dressed and go eat, put on your swim suit then go eat, get dressed up and go eat. We ate a lot and it was delicious!
The family, minus a few, ready for formal night.
We watched a lot of movies in 3-D. They showed all the newest releases including a midnight showing of Mars Needs Moms the day it was released.
The live shows were great! They included all the Disney Classics and Disney songs.
With a family full of girls how can you not coordinate- shirts, scarfs, and hats. For the kids matching PJ's, swimsuits, and dresses.
The last night the kids colored all over the table cloth without permission but on Disney it's all about the kids. So they folded it up and let us take it home for the memory. We made so many fun memories. The kids just keep asking when we can go back.

Pirate Night

The pirate party on the ship was complete with food, fun, dancing, and fireworks! Everyone dressed up in their best pirate attire.
As it got to be late, I think these two were actually more in the mood for sleep then dancing and fireworks
The midnight buffet was a definite must because it had been two hours since we had eaten last ;)
Nothing like a good old turkey leg to top off the night. Man this kid can eat!

Oceaneer Club

There is SO much for kids to do on a Disney Cruise. They have the Oceaneer Club and Lab just for kids. Lexi loves arts and crafts! She made so many crafts and painted so many pictures she needed her own bag to bring them all home.
The kids took part in a lot of cool experiments and competitions.
In the computer lab the kids had all their favorite games to choose from.
Kempton did not like being left in the nursery but he could go into the kids club if Lance or I was with him. He loved to play on the slide and climbing toys.
The girls had fun at the Character tea party. The Princesses taught us proper etiquette and how to use good manners.
When Peyton and Lexi were not in the Oceaneer's lab they could be found on the top deck playing in the pool.
The kids did not want the cruise to end.

Characters

On a Disney Cruise there are characters, lots of characters! Lexi was at the perfect age because she was so excited to see all the princesses.
Kempton loved Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and all the classics.
Peyton would not go out of his way to see the characters but who doesn't like starting off the morning with a thumbs up from Chip.
You would run into characters all over the ship- in the elevator, dining rooms, and just roaming the halls.
It sure beat waiting in line at Disneyland to get a picture.

Cabo San Lucas

In Cabo we planned to go para sailing. On our way out we went by this amazing yacht complete with a helicopter pad on back. Our guide told us it was Bill Gates' but who knows.
The kids were really excited to go para sailing.
Peyton and I went first but I must admit I was a little worried about how it would go.
Peyton thought it was sweet. It was so quite and peaceful up high in the sky.
It was good Lexi went with Lance because she got a little nervous and dad can always make things better.
Lexi wanted to go again after she was done. Maybe next time.
We ended the afternoon playing on the beach. It's a good thing we made the most of the day because we were suppose to have another day in Cabo. However the port was closed after the earthquake in Japan because of tsunami warnings. But on a Disney Cruise there is so much to do that staying on the boat is not a problem.
